The Briscoe Museum

CLIENT

The Briscoe Museum offers an extensive collection of art, annual programming, community events, internationally recognized artists, and exhibits that are centered on the preservation, interpretation, history, and culture of the American West. The Briscoe Museum hired The PR Boutique to expand brand awareness and garner local media coverage.

 

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

  • Introduce the Briscoe Western Art Museum and its events and programming to the San Antonio public and media
  • Secure media placements through strategic pitches
  • Generate awareness through promotion of events and programming
  • Engage the community of San Antonio through Museum programming and events

CHALLENGES

Although a prominent museum and tourist destination, the Briscoe Western Art Museum has only been open to the public for three years and is competing with local, well-established art, science, and children’s museums that have been a part of the San Antonio community for over thirty years.

 

SUCCESS METRICS

    • The PR Boutique generated a buzz throughout Downtown San Antonio by curating creative media drops and sending a detailed press kit showcasing the annual Briscoe Museum Pony Express Love Letters event. This year’s event was the most successful to date, with over 500 museum-goers creating letters to send to their loved ones in Downtown San Antonio and across the state of Texas.
    • Along with boosting brand awareness for the Briscoe Museum’s current Western art collection, The PR Boutique promoted the Briscoe Western Art Museum’s annual Night of Artists Art Sale and Exhibition by distributing a detailed press kit, media advisories, and invitations to key media to boost attendance and ticket sales. The Museum’s annual fundraising event was it’s most successful yet. TIckets sold out in advance and the Museum raised over $1.2 million during the first weekend of the exhibition.

 

  • In order to kick off a media blitz surrounding the Briscoe Museum’s annual National Day of the Cowboy event, The PR Boutique distributed a detailed press kit showcasing performers, vendors, and activities. Story ideas highlighting the family-friendly activities and event details were distributed and featured on local broadcast, news, and television media outlets.
